History
The Pre-Pharmacy Association was originally founded in 1995 as the Pre-Pharmacy Student's Association or PPSA. The organization met monthly and consisted of only five officers and less than one hundred members. Since then PPA has expanded to over 300 members with the additional officer positions of Webmaster and Public Relations, in order to meet the demands of the growing organization. Today PPA continues to strive and prosper under the authority of the dedicated officer panel, and the commitment and valiant efforts of the members. We endeavor to exceed standards to best accommodate current and future members.
Goals
UHPPA is an organization geared towards those pursuing a career in pharmacy. We offer volunteer opportunities, informative meetings with pharmaceutically involved guest speakers, pharmacist shadowing opportunities, and much more. In addition, members have access to discounted PCAT courses and a list of active members will be sent to the University of Houston College of Pharmacy Admission Committee. By joining our community, we will do our best to guide you through your journey to pharmacy school.

Tien Amy Le | President

Major: Pre-Pharmacy
Hometown: Edmonton, Canada
Favorite PPA Memory: Pumpkin Patch Bowling. I was part of the station that oversaw children bowling with mini pumpkins and empty bottles. The broke all the pumpkins, so we had to find other ways to entertain them
Involvement/Experience: Volunteer through PPA, has hand-on experience with pharmacists (including summer interning), and active member in PPA for 2 years.
Something you've always wanted to try but have been too scared to do: Study abroad in a country where I'd have to learn a foreign language
Would Most Like to Meet: Emma Watson; she seems like a very entertaining and intelligent person to converse with, but mostly because she is exceptionally beautiful.

Jelice McBean | Vice President

Favorite PPA Memory: Helping clean our community with MVP Rock the Block
Involvement/Experience: Liason for APhA-ASP, volunteer at Dr. Bott's Office, and active member in PPA for 2 years

Favorite PPA Memory: being a part of the championship Pre Health Co-Rec Basketball team.
Involvement/Experience: Part of PPA for the past 3 years, Active member for both semesters last year, Currently employed as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS.

Amy Co | Webmaster

Favorite PPA Memory: The Heart Walk at the Memorial Mall will always have a special place in my heart
because of all the enthusiasm from the participants and how much we got to interact with each other. This was the first event in which I truly got to meet many good friends and was able to get closer to the past officers, and of course, the PPA dance crew cannot be forgotten.
Involvement/Experience: Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, interned with multiple pharmacists, and active Member in PPA for 1 year
Something you've always wanted to try but have been too scared to do: Skydiving! I've always wanted to conquer heights, so what better way than to go skydiving?
Would Most Like to Meet: Robert Downey Jr. (In his Iron Man suit as a bonus).
Random Fact: I love binging on a good k-drama
